Bhubaneswar (Bureau) Speakers have expressed the opinion that if more importance is given to Odisha's natural resources and tourism infrastructure, the economy of the state can be developed. On the occasion of the 19th anniversary of the daily English newspaper 'Orissa Today' in Bhubaneswar, a discussion cycle was held on the present and future of tourism in Odisha. Former Finance Minister Prafulla Chandra Ghadai participated in the program as the inagurator and said that Odisha's tourism sector is progressing. The government felt the need to help small magazines in the field of advertising.
Former finance minister Panchanan Kanungo joined as the chief guest and said that the role of newspapers is important for the development and expansion of tourism in Odisha. Because Odisha has a lot of infrastructure in the field of tourism. The tourism industry can be further developed through the media. The government needs to pay more attention to 'river tourism, ecotourism' and 'temple tourism' in particular. Citing the example of the river, Mr. Kanungo said that there is a need to build tourism infrastructure in the river basin from Amarkantha to the Bay of Bengal. In the program presided over by V Rajendra Raju, editor of 'Orissa Today', Abinash Mishra read the details. Joined by former MLA Priyadarshi Mishra, he opined that the government should help small and medium magazines in the field of advertising. Founder President of Odisha Patrakar Sangha and senior journalist Surendra Sahu attended as the guest of honor while General secretary of Odisha Patrakar Sangha Ramdas Lima gave a welcome speech. Harprasad Das delivered the vote of thanks and Dhriithar Das co-ordinated the programme. On this occasion, talented individuals like Umasankar Padhi of Rayagada and others were felicitated for their contributions in various fields.
