Balangir(By Tej Raj Mishra,PRO)On 5th January 2024, D/189 Battalion CRPF, Paikmal and E/189 CRPF Bartunda, District-Bargarh conducted a “Civic Action Program” opposite Bikramnagar Seva Ashram School, Manmathapali/Bikram Nagar, Nuapada-Padampur Biju Express Way. During this programme a Free Medical Check-up Camp was organized wherein free medical check-up as well as essential medicines were distributed to the general public. Keeping autumn in mind, blankets were distributed to the needy people. The Civic Action Program was inaugurated by Commandant-189 Bn. In his inaugural address, the officer stressed the need for more and more such camps in the backdrop of the vast population of this country living below the poverty line and expressed satisfaction that the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) is humbly working towards a social cause. On this occasion, apart from senior, subordinate officers and soldiers of CRPF, Dr. Shridhar Pradhan of PHC Paikmal, Medical Officers of PHC Jamseth, Dr. Pankaj Bhoi and Dr. Saurav Aggarwal, Smt. Rita Suna, Sarpanch Gram Panchayat Bartunda, Mrs. Tulabati Tandi Sarpanch Gram Panchayat Paikmal, Mrs. Subashini Seth Sarpanch Gram Panchayat Mithapali, local dignitaries, media persons, people from various remote villages and surrounding areas were present. Commandant-189 Bn has distributed Blankets to needy people of villages Bhangkhuti, Khandijharan, Khuradiphasa, Manbhang, Salehpali, Kendubhata in the AOR of D/189 Paikmal and Villages Brahmnatal, Bhuikher, Marjyadapali, Motipali, Patrapali and Purena in the AOR of E/189 Paikmal. On this occasion, the Commandant-189 Bn assured the villagers and Sarpanch of concerned villages that if they have any problems regarding Naxalism they can contact the Company Commander so that their problems can be solved at company or Unit level otherwise it will be taken to the District Administration.
This Civic Action Program was organized on the instructions of IG, CRPF, Odisha Sector, Bhubaneswar. It is pertinent to mention that apart from carrying out operational activities to curb anti-national elements, 189 Battalion, CRPF Balangir (Odisha) has also been working under the aegis of “Civic Action Program” to maintain and build cordial relations with the general public. Runs various welfare activities for the betterment. Through these activities CRPF has come closer to the last and deprived person of the society. Over the years also 189 Battalion, CRPF created goodwill among the public by distributing blankets, books, clothes and other material in the interest of the common man and organizing such medical camps.
