Rayagada: On the occasion of the National Handloom Day. The day observed in the instructions of the Principal Secretary of Handloom, Textiles and Handicrafts Department of Odisha Government have been complied with District Collector, Rayagada Sri Manoj Satyaban Mahazone, ADM, Bhaskar Raita, Sub-Collector Gunapur Ms. Kirandeep Kaur Sahate, Sub-Collector Rayagada Ms. Sanghamitra Devi, other district officials, BDOs, Tahsildars and employees were seen wearing handwoven clothes on this day. Apart from this, the public and media representatives of the district wore these clothes and shook hands happily on this day. It was observed that on one particular day of every week, Chief Administrative Secretary Mr. Arvind Padhi has directed to wear the cloth woven by the weavers of Odisha. This will increase the livelihood of local weavers and save the art forever.
