Bhubaneswar(PR), As a part of its relentless pursuit towardshealth and wellbeing ofthis region, the Utkal Alumina International limited, a subsidiary of Hindalco Industries limited of Aditya Birla Group has organized a Blood Donation Camp at itsNuapada Township Club House on 23rd Feb 2023 in collaboration with Dist. Blood Bank Rayagada.
Employees of Utkal Alumina along with their family members, Ujjwal Utkal(ladies club) Members,Security personnel, Safety and Fire Personnel, Kashipur Drivers Association, Tikri Merchant’s Association, employees of partners establishments, Worker’s Union, contract workers, laborer and DP (Displaced Person) Committee along with the community people have voluntarily donated their blood for a social cause which would meet the blood requirements of the Rayagada district. 253 unitsof Blood have been collected from this health camp.
Mr. DharmanandaBehera, ADM Rayagada graced the inaugural event as Chief Guest. Mr. Mazhar Beig, Unit Head Utkal Alumina, Dr. Lopamudra Priyadarshini, Head CSR, CR & Sustainability Utkal Alumina, Dr. Goutam Patnaik, Blood Bank Officer Rayagada, Mr. GovindaNaik, President DP Committee, Mr. Alaram Batra, Secretary DP Committee, Mr. Jaydan Naik, President Workers Union, Mr. JagjeevanNaikPresident driver’s association Kashipur, Mr. MunnaNaik Merchant’s association Tikriwere among the few dignitaries who have joined the inaugural event as guests.
Kiran Verma a passionate promotor for blood donation awareness across the country, was one of the dignitaries who have joined the Inauguration session. He motivated and encouraged the donors to give blood and save lives. Mr. Verma has walked almost 11,000+ Kilometres starting from Delhi and have reached Tikiri today to continue his journey further to compete the goal of walking 21,000+ KM. his presence had indeed motivated the donors.
Dr. LalmohanRoutroy, CDMO Rayagada and Mr. BhimasenSabar, Sub-collector Rayagadagraced the occasion as esteemed guest. They supported and inspired the cause by quoting that donating blood is a simple yet powerful way to save lives and our blood donation can make a life-changing difference for someone in need.
The Chief Guest, Additional District Magistrate of Rayagada, lauded the commendable efforts of UTKAL Alumina in organizing the blood donation drive. He reinforced the importance of blood donation in saving lives and encouraged the team to organize more such frequent camps in future.
Mr. Sabar, the Sub-Collector of Rayagada, expressed his admiration for the relentless efforts of Utkal Alumina in organizing the voluntary blood donation drive. He also reassured the organizers of the full support of the district administration in future initiatives of this nature.
In his host address, Mr. Mazhar Beig, Unit Head & President of Utkal Alumina, highlighted the significance of blood donation as a valuable contribution to humanity. He reiterated Utkal Alumina's commitment towards the health and wellbeing of the community and the larger good of the society. Hequoted,
