Balangir(PR)With the aim of strengthening the nationwide fitness movement and making the general public of Balangir aware about keeping the environment green, about 100 students and teachers of Government ITI College Larkipali Balangir along with 189 Battalion Central Reserve Police Force personnel under the leadership of Shri Mrinal Kanti Biswas, Second Command Officer, on 06/01/2025 cycled a distance of about 8 km from Shantipada CRPF Camp to ITI College, Khuntpali, Shantipada Chowk, Rajendra University and back to CRPF Camp Shantipada, in which about 150 cyclists participated. On this occasion, Shri Mrinal Kanti Vishwas, Second Command Officer, while addressing the people, said that Fit India Cycling Drive is a nationwide initiative, which aims to promote cycling as a healthy, sustainable mode of transport. Cycling is a solution to pollution and is an important contributor to sustainability. The aim of this initiative is to promote community engagement, fitness and environmental awareness. Physical activity is very important to keep the body healthy and fit. Regular cycling is one of the best ways to reduce the risk of health problems related to a sedentary lifestyle. The habit of cycling daily helps in keeping physically active, which can naturally reduce the risk of serious diseases like obesity, heart disease, mental illness, diabetes and arthritis. Under the Fit India Movement, it has been organized at about 1000 places across the country.
